Can you build a profitable farm without any farming experience?

On UpFlip, Danny and Vicky, owners of Seven Oaks Farms in Florida, explain how they turned four cows into a business generating approximately $40,000 per month.

From 4 Cows to 250

The couple started raising cattle for their family before friends and neighbors began asking to buy their beef.

Today, they have approximately 200–250 cows, including premium Wagyu cattle.

Instead of selling wholesale to restaurants, they focus on direct-to-consumer sales through their farm store.

The Real Numbers

The farm generates around $40,000 monthly, but operating costs are significant:

  • Feed: $20,000–$25,000 per month

  • Labor: Approximately $8,000

  • Profit margin: Roughly 10%

They also attract customers through social media, farm events, and a food truck.

Business Lesson

Sell an experience, not just a product.

Seven Oaks Farms attracts customers by letting families visit the animals, explore the farm, and connect with the people producing their food.
